Wanga Zembe-Mkabile is a Specialist Scientist (seasoned) in the Health Systems Research Unit at the South African Medical Research Council. Her main interests are research and teaching in social policy, insofar as this relates to poverty and inequality, and the impact thereof on health and wellbeing. Much of her work focuses on children, but lately she has begun to focus on other vulnerable populations such as adolescents and low-income adults, households and communities. Wanga also has a keen interest in decolonial pedagogy, particularly as this relates to research methodology.
