Prof Fisseha Itanna Danno, born in Ethiopia in 1955; holds a BSc and MSc from Addis Ababa University and a PhD in Soil Sciences from the University of Hohenheim in Germany. He worked at the Addis Ababa University from 1978 to 2013 and at the University of Namibia from 2013 to 2019. He is currently working at the National University of Lesotho. He published 53 articles, three books and over 25 other publications. His research focus is on soil fertility, soil conservation and environmental pollution and remediation. Prof Danno also served in different academic leadership positions at AAU and UNAM.
