Executive education fees comprise the following

• Application fee R160
• Tuition fees; split into a minimum of 50% deposit at registration and balance due by 15 May 2018.

Notes

• Application fees are non-refundable.
• The application fee may be paid using the MyUnisa online payment platform http://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/corporate/default/Apply-for-admission/Student-fees-and-funding-your-studies/Unisa-payment-methods-and-banking-details or electronic fund transfer (EFT) or credit card or cash deposit at your nearest bank.
• Bursars (sponsors) can request a pro-forma invoice from the Fees Office
• Invoices will only be created once a valid purchase order (PO) is sent by the bursar/ sponsor

Note that Unisa is a cashless environment.

Executive education programmes and short courses on offer in 2018 are:

Application and tuition fees need to be settled at the following intervals

Application fee of R160 on registration

12 Month programmes

50% of total tuition fees on registration and the outstanding 50% of the balance of the total tuition by 15 May.

6 month programmes and short courses

50% of total tuition at registration and the balance by 15 May, if the participant registers in the 1^st semester.  If the participant registers in the 2nd semester, 50% of the total fee must be paid at registration and the balance by 15 August.

3 month programmes and short courses

100% of total tuition at registration.

Please Note

The programme or short course registration will only be processed if the registration fee is settled in terms of the above or a valid purchase order is provided. The bursar or sponsorship letter is not sufficient for registration and should be accompanied by a purchase order. Failure to pay the tuition fees as outlined above will result in online access to learning materials and results being suspended.

Study material

Students should source their prescribed books from Unisa approved book sellers.

Withdrawal from programme or short course

Subject to Section 12(2) of the Consumer Protection Act, a cancellation fee is payable as follows:

Registered participants who wish to withdraw from any SBL executive education programme or short course for any reason must do so in writing to the Programme Administrator and the Fees Office: failure to do so will result in the student being liable for the full tuition fees of the programme or short course.

1 year programmes

6 months programme

3 months programme

  • Withdrawal after the programme or short course commencement date, will result in a liability equal to 100% of tuition fees.

Financial blocks and cancellations

Unsettled accounts of participants are subject to financial blocks or/and cancellations. Accounts that are cancelled or blocked will not have access to the EDS platform and academic results on the MyUnisa platform.

Failure to settle fees in full

Should a participant fail to settle all outstanding amounts, he or she risks the following financial penalties:

1. Unable to access his/her statement of results
2. Not be allowed to form part of the certification ceremony
3. Runs a risk of being handed over to a third party for collection of outstanding amounts
4. Once the outstanding account is handed over for collection, the participant will be liable for legal costs of recovery.

No cash or cheques will be accepted at the Unisa SBL offices. Cash or cheques can, however, still be paid into the bank account of the University at any Standard bank branch in South Africa.

Unisa is listed as a COMPANY beneficiary (select from your bank’s list of preapproved company beneficiaries).

Credit Card Payments

Credit cards are restricted to Visa and MasterCard. Credit card payments are accepted if you pay or register in person at Unisa SBL in Midrand.

Employer sponsorship

To facilitate preparation of sponsorship (bursar) letter and tax invoices.  Companies or organisations sponsoring participants must send bursar/sponsorship letters in order to be furnished with a tax invoices. The bursar/sponsorship letter must include the following information:

1. A letter of sponsorship wherein the sponsor unequivocally assumes financial liability for the total or stated amount of the cost of tuition as well as application fees. On the basis of a sponsorship letter, UNISA SBL will hold the sponsor legally responsible for the amount in the letter even if a participant terminates his/her relationship with the sponsor. UNISA/SBL reserves the right to require a Memorandum of Agreement to obtain the condition above.
2. Full trading name of organisation.
3. Postal address of organisation.
4. VAT Number (if exempt, please indicate)
5. Full name and official title of account representative
6. Cost or amount for which the organization is responsible.
7. Full name of each participant and student number (the national ID number if student number has not been issued)
8. Fax number or email address where a copy of invoice may be sent.
9. Bursar/Sponsorship letter should be on the companies official letter head

Duration: 1 year

Standards are crucial to markets and society, ensuring that products and services are conducive to public welfare and company performance. This programme aims to raise awareness of the nature, impact and benefits of standards and is suited to participants from all sectors, whether they are engineers, economists, lawyers, business managers or administrators in government. Knowledge, skills, attitudes and experience in standardisation add value to professionals and roles in a large variety of fields and can be applied to any scope of employment.

Fundamental Management Programme (FMP)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

This programme aims to equip entry-level managers with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills to handle fundamental management tasks and be team leaders in rapidly changing organisations.  First-level managers such as supervisors and superintendents, as well as small business managers, enrol in the FMP to gain the management background necessary for self-development and promotion.  Some students also use the FMP as a bridging course before embarking on more advanced management development programmes. The FMP has streams for participants from both the business and public sectors.

Leading for Innovation (LFI)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Safety and security is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy as organisations strive to manage their risk, and middle managers are at the heart of it. This programme aims to equip middle managers in the safety and security industry with the skills and knowledge to lead administrative units, craft strategy, motivate staff and allocate financial resources. The MDPSS also considers the bigger picture, specifically the role middle management plays in realising the vision of senior leadership and mobilising support for broader organisational goals.

Advanced Project Management (APM)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Cost and time overruns are common in projects across industries but can, with the appropriate knowledge and skills, be eliminated. Coaching for Leaders (CFL)

Coaching ability is considered a critical leadership skill in 21st century organisations and can be an invaluable career-enhancing attribute. This programme focuses on managers who aspire to add basic coaching skills to their personal leadership toolkit but do not necessarily want to become full-time accredited coaches.  The programme covers the basic aspects of coaching in the work context.  Modules cover coaching theories and models, ethics, personal discovery, transformation and the practical aspects relating to coaching skills.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Total Project Cost Management (TPCM) -  R63 720

The aim of this programme is to develop total cost management skills within the project management environment. The focus is on integrating project management, resource management and management accounting. Using the skills and knowledge gained, participants should be in a position to manage project costs and schedules efficiently and effectively, thus completing projects on time and on budget and avoiding cost, scope and scheduling overruns. EDP for Women in Tourism (EDPWiT)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Launched in 2016 as an initiative of the National Department of Tourism, the EDP WiT seeks to empower women and build an inclusive and sustainable tourism sector. Aimed at senior female leaders in tourism and hospitality, the programme deals with vital business-oriented and leadership skills, including strategic financial management, the global business environment and advanced strategic tourism management. The programme is presented as a collaborative offering between the UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership (SBL) and the Department of Applied Management at the UNISA College of Economic and Management Sciences.

Broad-Based Black Economic Executive Development Programme (BBBBEE-EDP) - R56 000

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

In 2020 the B-BBEE Commission released a report on the National Status and Trends on broad-based economicempowerment (B-BBEE) for the calendar year 2019. Accordingto the report, for real and accelerated broad-based blackeconomic empowerment to be achieved, the mandatorycomponents of the B-BBEE Act must be applied consistently byboth the private and public sectors.
