Unisa units ignite enthusiasm for community engagement

History was made as Unisa recently hosted its inaugural Communities: From Conversation to Collaboration event at the Cape Town Campus. Showcasing their achievements in the area of engaged scholarship were, among others, the Western Cape Law Clinic, the Institute for Social and Health Sciences, and the Community Learning Unit. Leading by example: Mpumalanga RSRC deputy speaker graduates

The Deputy Speaker of the Mpumalanga Regional Student Representative Council, Carol Khoza, was amongst the 960 graduates at the Unisa Autumn Graduations 2024, held in Mbombela. Khoza is currently registered for an honours degree, specialising in early childhood development education. Read more

On 10 May 2024, Unisa conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Languages, Linguistics and Literature (Honoris Causa) posthumously on Professor Mĩcere Gĩthae Mũgo, a celebrated playwright, author, and activist, at the #UnisaAutumnGraduations held at Muckleneuk Campus. Read more

Unisa conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Honoris Causa) to Natasha Sideris at a graduation ceremony held on 07 May 2024. Sideris is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Tashas Restaurant Group. The degree recognises her substantial and unique contributions to the fields of hospitality and consumer science.
