Department of Transport (DOT) Bursary guidelines
Who can apply?
- South African citizens who are 35 years old and below
- UNISA undergraduate and postgraduate (NQF level 6 to 8) students who have attained an average of at least 50% on their prior academic year of study
- Returning beneficiaries must have passed 50% or more on their previous year registered/ funded modules
- Only students registered for the following qualifications may apply:
- Undergraduate:
- BCom Transport Economics
- BCom Logistics
- Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Advance Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Postgraduate:
- Honours Transport Economics
- Honours Logistics
- NB: The funding is subject to the availability of funds.
What does the bursary cover?
- Tuition fees
- prescribed textbooks
- The bursary does NOT fund failed/ repeating modules

- Applications must be sent to makgarc@unisa.ac.za through student’s myLife email account

- Returning students must re-apply for funding
- Students need to check their myLife email account to access the bursary outcome
