Our mission
Provide training to supervisors, promoters, post-graduate mentors, non-examining chairs and any other academic professionals offering academic and scholarly support to postgraduate students, in wide-ranging competencies related to their roles in providing support to postgraduate research students.
Provide training to supervisors, promoters and post-graduate mentors in guiding postgraduate students with:- (i) academic integrity (ii) proposal development. (iii) thesis and dissertation development; (iv) writing for publication from graduate projects; (v) grantsmanship; (vi) ethical practices in research and (vii) engaged scholarship
Build supervisory capacity across all colleges
Offer training to non-examining chairs in the assessment processes
Offer training to internal and external examiners of postgraduate outputs.
Provide institutional leadership on scholarship related to the development of postgraduate research skills.
Provide training on the integration of African epistemologies and indigenous knowledge research into UNISA’s students’ postgraduate projects.
Address the needs of society through engaged community research
