The College of Graduate Studies cultivates pedagogical innovations in postgraduate studies and research, and we are committed to mainstreaming excellence across all other Colleges at UNISA. As an ODeL institution, we offer support to students and academics in terms of optimal utilisation of ODeL as a mode of delivery as well as promoting innovation in ODeL scholarship. We serve as a leadership hub for the scaffolded optimisation of the catalytic niche areas at institutional level, and we host prestigious research chairs and distinguished visiting scholars. Postgraduate administration and the internationalisation agenda are also core aspects of our mandate as a College.
Our approach to exceptional support is holistic and integrated with the core values of the larger institutional environment, particularly quality, collegiality and collaboration. We integrate a commitment to enhancing expertise in collaborative multi, inter and transdisciplinary research based on African and indigenous epistemologies into all our activities and this commitment shapes the type of leadership we offer to Colleges. The purpose of all our interventions is to support Colleges as they develop career and industry-ready graduates and researchers who are equipped to produce knowledge that enriches their societies from our uniquely African perspective.
