The UNISA 1000 course introduces UNISA students, staff and alumni to the world of entrepreneurship. It will introduce members to the world of ideation. Ideation is the creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas, where an idea is a basic element of thought that can be either visual, concrete, or abstract. In the ideation phase, you will explore and come up with as many ideas as possible. Some of these ideas will go on to be potential solutions to your design challenge; some will end up on the reject pile. At this stage, the focus is on quantity of ideas rather than quality. The main aim of ideation is to uncover and explore new angles and avenues—to think outside the box. For the sake of innovation and creativity, it is essential that the ideation phase be a “judgement-free zone”.
The Accelerator Programme nurtures ideas and provides support to early-stage entrepreneurial ventures by members of the Unisa ecosystem. As part of the programme, we run a large number of partner-driven micro enterprise ventures, workshops, presentations, events and entrepreneurial competitions throughout the year.
