The Directorate of Innovation, Techmology Transfer and Commercialisatio (DITTC) offers workshops, training sessions, panel discussions and information sessions to staff and students through the InnovationSense Programme.
The programme consists of the following sub-programmes:
DITTC invite speakers to present on what Innovation is, IP and commercialisation respectively.
DITTC invite speakers to present on selected special topic that students and staff had shown interest when the DITTC engage with them in various other programmes and initiatives.
DITTC invite entrepreneurs and innovators with unique, innovative offerings to share their journey.
We invite speakers to have a panel discussion on the WIPO theme of a particular year in celebration of World IP day.
The Business Model Canvas is training offered to staff and students over a 7 weeks period/sessions on Business Model Canvas. The goal of the training is to equip participants who have innovative ideas and who are interested in starting up a business with the insight and tools that they can apply in the commercialisation of their product offering.
Blue Ocean is led by the French Embassy, to provide training to key South African incubators in Blue Ocean strategy, which refers to a market where there is little to no competition. South African incubators and universities that are involved in the initiative are TuksNovation (UP), the University of the Witwatersrand’s Tshimologong digital innovation precinct, Boabab, Durban University of Technology and the University of South Africa (Unisa). They are also supported by key partners, Technology Innovation Agency, Veolia, and three major metropolitan municipalities (City of eThekwini, City of Tshwane, City of Johannesburg).
The DITTC team visits various colleges to give talks as per the college request in particular on the role of DITTC, IPR Act, etc
