Unisa's College of Economic and Management Sciences recently displayed its commitment to innovative sustainable societies during its sixth annual Research and Innovation Day which highlighted the importance of research and collaboration in tackling global and local challenges.
Four students from Unisa's College of Economic and Management Sciences have been selected to represent the university at the Middle East and Africa Future Leaders competition in Dubai next January. Their innovative project, TROVE, aims to empower women and youth in the tourism sector and has secured them a spot among the top three finalists in the regional competition.
Ntshavheni Khangale recently graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce at Unisa. A literal case of beating the odds, Khangale's academic journey was marked with many difficulties, including writing examinations from an ambulance in transit between the hospital and his home.

Drawing from personal experiences and guided by her supervisor, Professor Maelekanyo Mulaudzi, she navigated the complexities of intergenerational expectations and management strategies, unveiling a comprehensive framework for effective leadership in academia.
Prof Sugandren Naidoo, recently appointed Chair of the Department of Operations Management in the College of Economic and Management Sciences, attributes his drive for self-improvement and academic excellence to his experience as a newspaper delivery boy during his schooling years.
