National Science week 1 - 6 August 2022


In recognition of National Science week, Dakalo Mondlane of the Rivoningo Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Education in the Vhembe East District hosted a five day Village Science and Technology Career Development programme for learners in public schools at rural areas. The Rivoningo Foundation was founded in 2019 with the aim of promoting and encouraging learners to study Mathematics and Science.

The five day career development programme was held at Tshivhase Secondary School and 40 schools were invited to come take part in the program. The University of South Africa’s (UNISA) College of Education (CEDU) marketing and communication and the Department of Science and Technology Education (DeSTE) were also invited to come and market Science and Technology careers to the learners. CEDU marketing and Communication was represented by Kebalibile Motsepe and Seanokeng Kgaphole, and DeSTE was represented by Moleboheng Ramulumo.

There were engagements with the learners and prizes were given during the discussions.
