We are proud to introduce our executive committee members for 2015/2016:

Chairman: Ralph Muvhiiwa

Areas of expertise Master of Science student in engineering at MaPS, interested in research with a special interest in sustainable and environmentally benign technologies; bioenergy; process and product design.

Why I’m part of EWB I have the passion and I am eager to help solve both engineering and everyday problems. I would also like to create a better tomorrow by contributing towards empowering the youth of underprivileged communities through skills transfer.

Chief Administrative Officer: Edmund Bono

Areas of expertise Masters student in chemical engineering with the Separations Research Group at MaPs. I have three years of experience with Sasol Technology R&D as a senior research assistant, focusing on improving the quality of fuel and reaction kinetics. I have also lectured Thermodynamics III at the University of Johannesburg.

Why I'm part of EWB In my neighbourhood I have always been involved in community engagements projects; tutoring, volunteer teacher, library chess team, etc. This passion to help in my neighbourhood has led to me helping communities beyond where I live.

Secretary and Treasurer: Kerri du Preez

Areas of expertise PhD student in biotechnology at MaPS, with a background in the biological sciences, environmental engineering, wastewater treatment and aquaculture, as well as five years’ experience in environmental risk consulting. Interested in science education and finding sustainable solutions to socio-economic problems.   Why I’m part of EWB EWB allows us to come together, from our various backgrounds and with our various skills to make a change, to uplift communities and to afford opportunities to those who have none. I want to be part of that change, to be part of the solution to the many problems we face in South Africa.
