Work integrated learning (WIL) refers to the period of time when students are working in the relevant industry to receive specific in-service training in order to apply theory in practice. It involves all the competencies and skills that students must acquire.
Unisa, the student and the specific industry jointly determine what is expected of a student during this work integrated learning period.
To fulfill the requirements for programmes a student must have completed a period of twelve months’ work integrated learning at an approved organization or employer. Students can undertake work integrated learning with more than one organization.
