Workplace-based Learning I: Pulp and Paper - PPW3601 | |||
---|---|---|---|
Diploma | Year module | NQF level: 6 | Credits: 60 |
Module presented in English | |||
Pre-requisite: TPH2601, REE2601, PPT2602 | Co-requisite: PRC3601, MPP3601, PPT3601 | ||
Purpose: Work-integrated learning refers to a component of co-operative education that can only be conducted through a suitable and approved employer. It provides students with an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge to relevant problem situations in industry, and to gain exposure to typical organizational culture, human relations and working conditions. With suitable guidance and supervision, the students will be taught to work independently and to develop an awareness of the ethics and requirements of the industry. The students therefore have an opportunity to develop their talents and to equip themselves to take up their place as citizens of this country by contributing to the well- being of society. Students would need to secure a placement in a pulp, paper or paper processing facility for a minimum period of six months. |
