The College of Accounting Sciences (CAS) recently held a seminal meeting with Investec. The business lunch, spearheaded by Investec, aimed to cultivate a mutual relationship between the esteemed financial institution and Unisa's College of Accounting Sciences. The collaborative session explored various avenues through which Investec could enrich the accounting students' educational journey at Unisa. Key discussion points revolved around initiatives aimed at augmenting student support, including mentorship programs, provision of bursaries, training opportunities, and extending assistance for the college's ITC board course.
While the deliberations marked the initial stages of the collaboration, Investec demonstrated a solid commitment to advancing the partnership by actively engaging in the college's upcoming events. The proactive involvement of Investec highlights its dedication to nurturing the potential of future accounting professionals and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Moving forward, both parties expressed their intent to formalise the collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which will serve as a concrete framework to solidify their mutual endeavours.
The college's delegation comprised the Executive Dean, Dr Moses Hlongoane, the Deputy Executive Dean, Prof Cameron Modisane, the Manager of Strategic Project, Tshegofatso Sebeela, and Head of Marketing Ntsako Mohlaba.
