Please note: In cases where a student did not complete the required pre-requisites for modules for which exemption was applied, the college will assess the application. This will, however, be on condition that any credit may be provisionally granted, but not loaded on the academic record until the student has passed the pre-requisites.
Students who completed the Diploma: Legal Assistance at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) may be exempted from the following LLB modules:
Exemption applications for modules offered in the following subject areas by the College of Law will not be approved if the period indicated is exceeded. Such applications must be submitted through the Recognition of Prior Learning Office for evaluation.
In cases where the timeframe has not lapsed, exemptions may only be considered if:
Credits/exemptions may not be granted for the signature module (SJD1501).
The Diploma: Legal Assistance exits at NQF level 6. Applications for credits and exemptions for Unisa modules offered at NQF level 7 and 8 may not be granted.
Applications for credits and exemptions may be considered if the module(s) passed at TUT is offered either at the same or at a higher NQF level as the corresponding Unisa module.
The College of Law cannot grant exemptions for modules that contain outdated information.
Exemption applications for modules offered in the following subject areas by the College will NOT be approved if the period has lapsed. Such applications need to be referred to RPL.
